About ME

__

MY History

I have always been creative. From cutting and sticking at pre-school through to my teenage years at school in Art class - which became the highlight of my week.

At University, I studied Interior Architecture at Oxford Brookes University. Upon completion of my BA Hons degree, I decided to continue my learning in Architecture with a Masters Degree in Project Management.

I hadn't realised I had wanted to be a photographer until just after this point of leaving student life behind. I went to a friends wedding and had an epiphany, an utter light bulb moment...I took a few photos on the tiny digital camera I took with me to their wedding and BAM, I knew it was what I wanted to do.

After that wedding, the couple used one of the photographs I took (despite having two professional photographers there to capture the day!) for their thank you cards which gave me the confidence in my ability. I then set to work on a portfolio, the rest is history and I haven't once looked back.

Photography has been a passion of

mine for many years

Even after 11 years, too many shoots to count...I am always learning, view finding and being creative. I love seeing so many happy people and freezing time on that happiness. Being able to capture this is one of the most wonderful things in this world and I am blessed to be able to call this my job. Becoming a Mum myself recently really made me realise how important it is to capture family and little ones. They will never be as little as they are today! Time passes so quickly, you literally blink and they've grown.

I think being able to look through photographs, look back on time is so special, and important to remember days gone by, it always brings joy, nostalgia and a smile.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME…

Starting with the simple stuff...I have always been creative, I think this started with loving cutting and sticking at primary school, these simple beginnings led me to do a degree in Interior Architecture and a masters in Project Management. However, life isn’t all about the academia... The most important things in my world are my family and my friends, spending time with them makes my world go round.

Laughing, I love to laugh, a lot of people say I have a ‘dirty’ laugh, I am still trying to figure out what that actually means! If I don’t have my cameras in hand, I’ll be walking my dog "Chief" or with my lovely Husband-to-be (thanks to covid). We love to travel, ending one holiday by booking another. Seeing the world, different cultures and ways of life is what hits my soul...but who doesn’t love a holiday?

Over the last couple of years I have enjoyed making our house a home, it's been a bit of a renovation project but we're getting there slowly but surely. I love putting schemes together, whether that’s fabrics and rugs, placing cushions on the sofa, framing artwork that I’ve collected or choosing carefully where to put a vase of fresh flowers. I have great pride in our home and it is our sanctuary. Aside from all the above, photography has been a massive part of my life for the last eight years or so. I take great pride in what I do, I love being able to give people back a memory they made. Even now, when I look back at photos I took of other peoples stories, I also, somehow see it as my memory… I think because I put so much love into creating the shot it's special to me too. I love this part of my job. Over the years a lot of clients have become good friends and I hope this continues.
